Ban Plate Medium

Ban Plate Series features different color and patterns of inside and outside. Ban plate is well matched with fruits or dry food.

Jung Yoon uses stone clay to make shapes by spinning wheel and decorates outside with repetitive patterns. She scratches the surface using tool for inlaying, fill with different color ceramic engobe, and when it dries, scape the surface back to create her own pattern.

Material : Mixed Clay, 1280℃ Oxidation Firing

Artist Jung Yoon had a hobby of photographing the surfaces of old buildings, such as the lime pillars of the Alhambra Palace which is her favorite. Her attempt to implement these photos into pottery was the beginning of her work. She pursues the simple and primitive form to express and maximize the color and texture of them in to her ceramic works.
