Seungjo Jeong | 정승조
정승조는 컴퓨터 그래픽으로 만들어진 인터페이스의 직관성을 작가만의 시각을 통해 예술로 재해석 한다. 그의 작품은 일상에서 쉽게 볼 수 있는 사물들이다. 그는 일상의 사물에 관심을 가지고 이를 관찰하며, 사물과 사물간의 관계, 사물의 구성 요소, 그리고 사물과 사용자의 관계에 대해 흥미를 가지며, 이를 예술작품으로 표현한다. 그리고 자신의 작품을 인터페이스로 활용하며, 사물과의 상호작용 했던 기억을 상기 시키며, 사물의 관찰하는 즐거움을 전달한다. 이처럼 작가는 두 세계를 아우르는 인터페이스를 만들어, 회화의 매체의 가능성과 한계를 탐구하고 있다.
Seungjo Jeong reinterprets the aesthetics of everyday technology and objects that are often unseen and their unique function is often not recognised because of its everyday familiarity. The Interface* series observes such subject of expression to project and be projected of his or her feelings and previous memories related to the image. Using his works as interface, the artist reminds of the experience that one had with the subjects.
*Interface: a point where two systems, subjects, organizations, etc. meet and interact; a computing device or program enabling a user to communicate with a computer.
