GREEM JEONG | 정그림
Greem Jeong experiments with forms of organic lines that question the extent of three dimensions and planes. The Mono series – defined as single – is a representative work by the artist that presents a scene of single, endless line in space. Re-interpreting the space with her works like drawing on a piece of paper, she breaks away from stereotypical linear forms and reinterprets objects in everyday life into new forms of organic curves, bringing vitality into the space. The Mono series is inspired by soft textures and long form of a silicone tubes. Its organic curves give a dynamic impression. It creates new values and breaks the boundaries between aesthetics and purposes by bringing industrial materials into the realm of arts into the main substance of the work and transforming the materials into main subjects.
The rhythmical object d’arts, shaped like an organic pipe shape, were completed using the flexible properties of the material, including the artist's intention to approach the audience as a mutual object that stimulates the audience's imagination.
Greem Jeong graduated École Supérieure d’Art et de Design de Reims France, studying Object/Spacial design.
