허보리는 현대인이 삶 속에서 마주하는 긴장감과 피할 수 없는 현실을 자연의 생명력에 빗대어 표현하며, 자연과 인간의 관계에 대해 고찰한다. 이러한 그의 작품은 자연을 관찰하는 시선에서 아름다운 자연을 재현하는 것이 아닌, 자연의 형태, 색의 움직임에 대한 작가의 회화적 연구를 기반으로 과감하고 경쾌한 붓 터치들을 통해 작가가 느꼈던 감정을 고스란히 드러낸다. 작가가 수집한 식물과 꽃 수풀 더미들을 형상화 한 작품은 추상과 구상 사이의 경계에 묘하게 머물러 있으며, 수많은 붓질을 통해 자연과 인간이 가지는 시공간의 흐름을 내포한다.
Boree Hur observes Nature and expresses them in her series of paintings. Looking closely at the colours and organic forms of nature, the artist brings her observations onto canvas.
The artist sees nature and reality on a same horizon, comparing the tension and crudeness of reality that we all encounter daily with the vitality of nature. The vividness of the colours and matieres of the paints reflect such emotions and experiences that the artist has felt into her paintings.
